Q: Do you give free domains?
A: Yes, we take domain requests on a regular basis and provide free domains for qualified sites. Your site should receive at least 100-300 unique visitors/day to receive a domain (less for less well known celebs may be acceptable) and have a high quality design. If you have had previous experience with websites, we may be able to get you a domain faster. The time it takes for you to get a free domain varies - hostees have received a domain immediately as well as after many weeks - it depends on your site and how the hosting goes. Please at least set up a basic site first before requesting a domain and do not request domains for incomplete sites. The domain will be used for your site only and you do not have to worry about losing your domain name. We will usually continue to renew the domain so you do not have to worry about it expiring. We may not host all the domains that we provide.

Q: Can you help me back up my site?
A: We can help you create backups but it's your responsibility to keep a copy of all your files at all times. You can do this in CPanel - > Backups, or by downloading your files via FTP.

Q: Can I run my own ads?
A: We grant permission to do this for some sites. However, you must receive explicit permission. If you place your own ads without asking us your site may be immediately deleted. We have some hostees paying and some co-running their ads along with ours.

Q: Do you buy domains?
A: Yes, although we cannot buy all sites/domains. If you have a domain name or site you would like to sell to us, please email fanfusion@gmail.com. For the price, it's easier and faster if you specify what price range you are looking for. The domain or site mayy need to meet certain requirements in order for us to buy it. If we purchase a domain or site from you, please realize that we will have control over it and can change the nameservers or the site itself (unless it's arranged otherwise at the time of the purchase). However, often we still allow the seller to have an input on the future direction of the site or domain.

Q: Can you help me install a script?
A: Possibly, but please try to do it yourself first. That means spending more than 10 minutes on it. However, do not rely on us, we expect a certain level of experience if you are hosted here.

Q: Why do I have to put an ad?
A: It helps pay for server costs and for domains.

Q: Can you help me transfer my site?
A: Probably, if we have time.

Q: Do you support PHP/MySql?
A: Yes

Q: Can you still get hosted without ads?
A: It's still possible, but in most cases no.

Q: Do you provide CPanel to subdomains?
A: Yes.

Q: Can I upgrade my account?
A: Yes, it's very easy to do this, just email us. If we determine that your need is legitimate we will give you more space.

Q: Where did the layout go on 5/1?
A: We made a DNS change and needed to make major updates on the information on the site so we took everything down and rewrote the information.
Versions of the site:
v1 - original version, free fansite hosting, no ads required.
v2 - after we opened another server after a lot of hosting requests.
v3 - text version. some adjustments in progress.
v4 - adjustments have been completed. hosting has stabilized.

Q: What's the version of php used?
A: 5.2.5

Q: Do you have SSH access?
A: We can enable this for you if you need it.

Q: Why is my error page like this? (added 6/6/08)
A: By default, we have set an error page to one of our existing pages on our server. If you want to use your own error pages, modify ErrorDocument using your .htaccess file

Q: Why is my CPanel in Arabic?
A: Choose your language in CPanel -> Change Language. I think by default it's set up to Arabic because it's the first language on the list and I haven't set it to English. 

Q: I sold you a site/domain. Do I still have control over the site/domain?
A: If we purchase a domain or site from you, please realize that we will have control over it and can change the nameservers or the site itself (unless it's arranged otherwise at the time of the purchase). However, often we still allow the seller to have an input on the future direction of the site or domain.

Q: I use Wordpress and I changed my domain name. Now my site won't show up.
A: This is because of the url change. You must
1: Change the siteurl field of the wp_options table in your Wordpress database through phpMyAdmin
2. Log into the admin page on your domain e.g., domain.com/wp-admin and update your blog URL to the new domain

Q: How do I install PHPMotion?
A: If your site has been approved, please install PHPMotion by following the instructions below and we will enable it for you.
Download PHPMotion from http://downloads.phpmotion.com/V2/PHPMOTION_PHP5.zip and upload the files to your account.

1. Follow the instructions in the setup directory (e.g., if you upload the files to domain.com, go to domain.com/setup). If you have problems with any step you can email the host and indicate the exact step at which you are stuck and why you aren't able to do that step.
